CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION

In my four years as Clinical Supervisor and part of the agency’s management team at RAMS, Inc., I supervised countless staff members from various disciplines: psychological assistants, social work interns, registered psychologists, marriage and family interns, predoctoral psychology interns, associate clinical social workers, peer counselors, vocational rehabilitation counselors, case managers, and intake coordinators. I provided daily managerial oversight and weekly clinical supervision to these staff; I was also part of a management consultation group that allowed me to grow immensely in this position.

I have also provided weekly clinical supervision for interns at Queer LifeSpace and Haight-Ashbury Psychological Services, as well as consultation and supervision for the case management team at the Navigation Center, the city's newest homeless shelter pilot program. I now also supervise and provide management leadership at Healing Realms, our ketamine assisted psychotherapy practice.

I'm extremely excited to support clinicians as they learn and grow, and I modify my supervisory approach to match the learning stage and style of my supervisee. I enjoy creating a welcoming environment conducive to self-exploration; my supervisees find me to be a supportive presence who places as much importance on their well-being as on applying rigorous clinical thought to practice.

I can provide weekly hours for unlicensed mental health professionals seeking clinical supervision. I can also offer consultation for licensed professionals seeking additional support; this service can be regularly scheduled or on an as-needed basis to address specific clinical or professional concerns. Please contact me to discuss rates and schedule a free phone consultation.

TRAININGS
I have provided annual in-service trainings on harm reduction theory and techniques for incoming groups of interns and trainees, and served as a discussant on a panel about identity and employment in our current economic environment. I have facilitated discussions with clinicians around self-disclosure and other self-of-therapist issues, and presented to graduate-level classes about my dissertation topic (inadvertent self-disclosure and how clients come to know personal information about their therapists). I also regularly presented to my staff about topics such as vicarious traumatization and compassion fatigue, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and short-term psychodynamic treatment methods. If you are interested in having me provide a group training or facilitate a discussion, please contact me so we can explore what your needs may be.
